Arizona Western College men's soccer is going back to nationals. The seventh-ranked rallied to beat 14th-ranked Eastern Arizona 2-1 at Matador Field and won the and district titles. Khi Caban converted a penalty less than six minutes in to put Eastern up 1-0. Godwin Anim answered less than eight minutes later, finishing from close range after a pass from Tyrese Agbontaen.

Then came a defensive grind. Freshman goalkeeper William Owen punched away a corner kick, and Takuto Yamaguchi headed away another Eastern attack. In the 86th minute, Leo Rodriguez set up Sayuki Miyatani, who scored the game-winning goal.

“They were playing at one point with 11 guys behind the ball. It's like getting into a safe. You just have to figure out a way in.”
