- ➤ YFD investigated two fires over the weekend—one that began on the patio of a La Mirada Apartments unit near Cibola High School at Avenue C and 20th Street and another that broke out in an alley near South First and East Sixth—ensuring no injuries and ruling out arson for the apartment incident. - ➤ A Yuma School District One bus caught fire on August 5th at about 4:30 p.m.—no students were on board and the driver exited safely as the fire remains under investigation. KYMA
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ A local non-profit is hosting a free franchise 101 workshop today from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the AWC Small Business Development Center on south Redondo Center Drive near 16th Street, where business counselor Mayra Franquez said Louie Picazo will cover franchising steps — explaining how small business owners can set policies and procedures to turn their operations into franchises.
