- ➤ The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints announced a new temple location near Walmart in the Foothills that will serve local members (who previously traveled to San Diego or Mesa). The temple will feature a dome and landscaping that reflect Yuma’s Spanish history and desert scenery, and a groundbreaking along with a public open house are expected as the project moves forward. - ➤ Dr. Mazin Saber joined the UA Cooperative Extension over the summer and is testing various herbicides for weed control while comparing manual weeding to new automated methods in Yuma—his trials involve AI data collection and collaboration with agriculture technology companies. KYMA

- ➤ The Yuma Holiday Heroes Blood Drive will return from Dec 27–29 at Yuma Palms—near 5 Below at 1375 S. Yuma Palms Parkway—where donors will get a coupon for a free medium pizza from Pizza Hut and one-day entry to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. The event will help local residents support blood donation in the area. KYMA
