- ➤ Little Caesars will host free meal events with Love Kitchen at the Salvation Army (445 S. 4th Avenue) on December 12 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and at Crossroads Mission (944 S. Arizona Avenue) on December 13—from a similar event scheduled in El Centro on December 11, free meals will be provided to locals in need with help from local organizations. KYMA
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Patrick O'Malley started his motorcycle in his garage on Tuesday evening (when something went wrong) and sparked a fire near east 49th Drive and South Sandra Avenue in Yuma that destroyed his home and motor home; fortunately, no one was injured (he plans to set up a go fund me for donations). - ➤ Dr. Hikmet Budak from AWC presented his research at the ASA Annual Conference in Salt Lake City on using machine learning and artificial intelligence to fight Fusarium Head Blight—he also noted that AWC students are gaining hands-on experience through GOAL programs funded by USDA-NIFA. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Onvida Health is partnering with the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System to build a state-of-the-art medical facility in Yuma—designed to bring local care such as primary care, imaging, and therapy to veterans. The new center will cost over $30—million and is slated for completion by summer 2027. KYMA
