- ➤ The Gila Ridge High School girls volleyball team donated a check for $2,062 to Bridget’s Gift just before their home game in Yuma today. Bridget’s Gift will hold its 13th annual western dance and BBQ event on October 25th at Cocopah Casino on South Avenue B in Somerton. KYMA
- ➤ A free pumpkin patch will be held at Yuma Palms Regional Center's parking lot near Five Below on October 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., where children 10 and under can pick a pumpkin for free+enjoy extra activities like candy for kids in costume, face painting, and games+designed for local families. - ➤ The Crossroads Mission in Yuma released a list of needed items—meats, seasonings, vegetables, and canned goods—ahead of Thanksgiving and Christmas to serve over 5,000 people across six days. Donations can be dropped off at the mission on 10th Street east of First Avenue and volunteers are welcomed for meal delivery and service. KYMA
- ➤ Crossroads Mission in Yuma is accepting donations at 944 S. Arizona Avenue before the holidays; donations are welcomed 24/7 (a list of needed items was shared by the organization). KYMA

- ➤ Arizona Western hosted its 3rd annual Pitch Competition today and gave local entrepreneurs a five-minute chance to present their ideas to over 100 community leaders — John Peel of Busy Drones Cleaners LLC won first place while Ana Diaz and Rebecca Robinette received second and audience favorite awards. The event featured pitches from business owners in Yuma and La Paz counties. KYMA

- ➤ On Halloween night, nurse practitioner Leala Martinez from Exceptional Community Hospital warns that costumes too long and shoes that do not fit can lead to falls & cuts, so parents should add reflective tape to safe costumes and have a flashlight handy. Martinez also advises checking candy labels for allergens and using sealed treats to keep children safe and healthy. KYMA
