  • Adelita Grijalva will become the next U.S. Representative for Arizona after winning a special election to fill the seat left by the late Raul Grijalva. She won against Daniel Butierez and other candidates in the seventh Congressional District and shared her historic victory on Twitter - juntos.  KYMA
  • State leaders representing Yuma County met at Arizona Western College today for a town hall—discussing the state budget, local needs, and education. Lawmakers from both parties shared past legislative results and outlined plans for reforming prison funding and sentencing laws.  KYMA

HEALTH NEWS

  • AquaStar USA Corp. is recalling more than 85,000 shrimp bags sold from June 12th to Sept 17th across 31 states – including some local stores – after insanitary conditions may have exposed the shrimp to cesium-137, though the FDA said no recalled products have tested positive for the radioactive element.  KYMA
