  • After Thursday night's storm brought winds over 60 mph that knocked down trees, closed roads, and caused a sinkhole on South Ridgeview Drive and Parkway Drive near Sonora Quest Laboratories, residents like Ann Stewart and Jonny Proter are dealing with collapsed parking structures and flooded homes while crews work to clean up the damage — recovery is underway across Yuma.  KYMA

CRIME NEWS

  • 56-year-old James Hill, the suspect in the murder of his girlfriend near senators wash in Imperial County, was in court today and waived his extradition rights to speed his trial—his attorney said he is expected to reappear next week while he remains in custody without bond.  KYMA

  • A storm hit Yuma on September 4 and brought high winds and heavy rain that caused a sinkhole on 14th Avenue—damaged trees and flash flood warnings were also seen near Walmart on Pacific Avenue and a local TV station parking lot.  KYMA
