- ➤ Fostering Hope Yuma will present the “Step Into the Story” conference at the Yuma Civic Center on September 20 to support foster and kinship parents—Steve Little said the event recognizes the hard work of those who care for foster children and provides them with vital resources. KYMA
- ➤ Yuma Agricultural Center announced that Dr. Chris Detranaltes has joined as a plant pathologist and director of the Yuma Plant Health Clinic to help local growers fight crop diseases — he will provide diagnoses and study major diseases affecting local crops. KYMA
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ At about 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, crews found an excavator struck a power line on Arizona Avenue near 20th Street, which caused a power outage and a building fire that was quickly extinguished (no injuries were reported). KYMA

- ➤ Yuma sees a new drone pressure washing business as Busy Drone Cleaners LLC opened Tuesday with a red ribbon ceremony—launched with help from the Small Business Development Center, they use drone technology to clean rooftops and solar panels safely by removing fall hazards. Owner John Peel said the service meets a need for cleaner, safer work on hard-to-reach areas. KYMA
