- ➤ Yuma Fire Department deputy chief John Louser completed the process to earn the CFO designation — one of only 2,000 worldwide according to the Center for Public Safety Excellence. KYMA

- ➤ Jasmin Williams, a 27-year-old mother who was first diagnosed with a tumor on her pancreas, is now in Phoenix for another surgery to treat internal bleeding—complicating her recovery after her previous operation revealed a leak in her stomach. KYMA
- ➤ The Alzheimer's Association will host the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's at West Wetlands Park, 282 N 12th Ave on November 15. Registration opens at 8 a.m., the ceremony is at 9 a.m., and the walk starts at 9:30 a.m.—one and three-mile routes will help raise $60,000. KYMA
- ➤ Today, the Yuma County Anti Drug Coalition held a meeting to observe Overdose Awareness Month and discuss the rise in fentanyl overdoses, noting that about five Arizonans died each day from drug overdoses in 2023. The meeting urged community members to obtain free Naloxone kits available at five local locations (including the coalition, Hope on Fourth Avenue, and Community Bridges) to offer life-saving help.
