GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Jose Valdovinos, a Yuma DACA recipient and husband to local Itzell Flores, was pulled over after leaving a gas station on Sunday and is now in Border Patrol custody—his family protested outside the station on Sunday and Monday demanding his immediate release while officials said he will be freed once his paperwork is processed.  KYMA
  • 211 Arizona, run by Solari Crisis and Human Services, may lose its live operators or shut down if new funding is not secured as current support runs through June and past one-year grants have left the program vulnerable. Over 52,000 Arizonans called 211 in June and state officials urged local elected leaders to back the helpline—its live operators guide callers to essential resources and help prevent costly emergencies—ensuring vital support remains available.  KYMA
