Yuma Insurance received the 2025 Make More Happen Award from Liberty Mutual which came with a $5,000 donation for the Humane Society of Yuma—supporting animal care efforts.

🚧 Accidents
A head-on crash on August 1 at about 8:46 p.m. near South Avenue G in Somerton killed 35-year-old Jose Manuel Castellanos when his Ford Mustang crossed into oncoming traffic and struck both a Toyota Venza and a Ford Expedition — injured passengers were treated at Onvida Health Yuma Regional Medical Center and in Phoenix as police noted alcohol appeared to be a factor.

Country Club RV, a family-owned dealership selling travel trailers and fifth wheels, announced via social media that it would close after 12 years—thanking customers and staff for their support.

Crane Elementary School District has assigned a full-time School Resource Officer to each middle school to improve campus safety and build stronger relationships with students—district leaders say the move is meant to boost security and parental peace of mind.
