- ➤ Yuma Fire Department responded on Saturday to two fires—one near S. First Ave and E. Sixth St where a shed ignited and threatened nearby structures before being contained, and one at La Mirada Apartments where a fire from a first-floor patio unit caused minor damage and led Yuma Police to take over the investigation after witnesses fled. - ➤ In Yuma, Hooters Yuma announced via social media that it will permanently close its doors on Sunday, August 10 (it has operated at Yuma Palms Mall since September 2016). The closure comes due to the lasting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, intense competition, and high costs, and current employees may apply at other chain locations. KYMA
