- ➤ On Wednesday, Lerner & Rowe presented a $5,000 check to the Yuma Community Food Bank to help fund emergency food programs and gave away 1,000 backpacks with school supplies and snacks to ease back-to-school costs—an act meant to thank the community for its support; the law firm said it plans more giveback events in the future. - ➤ Yuma Union High School District high schools are holding meet-and-greet sessions with teachers on Monday evening to help students prepare for the first day of classes on Tuesday, July 29th. - ➤ City of Yuma will begin road projects—such as street crack sealing, street grinding, asphalt patching and sidewalk repair—in the next few months, and reporter Madeline Murray will share more details later this afternoon. KYMA
- ➤ Lawmakers passed the Aviation Cancer Examination Study Act, which directs the Department of Veterans Affairs to work with the National Academies to study cancer risks among military aircrews and will now head to the president’s desk.
