- ➤ KAWC marked its 55th anniversary on July 16—inviting local music lovers, including AWC students, faculty and staff, to volunteer as hosts for music programs on KOFA Border Radio. - ➤ A local hemp farm in Yuma hosted one of Arizona's first hemp fiber industry tours Tuesday, where local council members, state leaders, and farmers learned how hemp can be used to make products like rope, textiles, and building materials (industry experts explained its economic potential). Farm owner Daniel Nowell and hemp leaders announced an adopt an acres program, with a planting and harvesting tour scheduled before the end of the year. KYMA
- ➤ Construction started Wednesday for Tropic Car Wash on Avenue E near the commercial port of entry in San Luis — part of an economic development project — and it will open in March as more businesses are set to break ground next week, Riedel Construction CEO Rieves Riedel said. KYMA

- ➤ Governor Katie Hobbs is asking the federal government to pay back Arizona for $100 million spent by former Governor Doug Ducey on storage containers used to cover gaps in the border wall.
