Good morning, Yuma.
Today, the Yuma County Board of Supervisors approved a tentative spending plan of $584.4 million for fiscal year 2025-2026 (which cuts overall appropriations by 3.4% and removes more than 22 full time positions from grant-funded programs while keeping a 3% performance pay increase and a stable property tax rate). The final budget will be presented on June 23 and some residents have urged more funds be directed toward education.
Vitalant will host the Summer Life Savers Blood Drive at the Yuma Main Library from July 31 to August 2 to help local and other Arizonans in need; donors will be entered to win a 2025 VW Taos S (donated by Valley Volkswagen Dealers).
