  • Somerton will host a free 4th of July celebration on July 3 from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. at Council Ave. Park (801 Council Avenue) featuring live performances, a balloon fight, fireworks and a drone show.  KYMA

  • Yuma libraries launched their summer reading program 'Unearth a Story' to combat summer slump until July 18. The program invites readers of all ages to borrow books, track reading on an app, and enter for prizes + enjoy a season of new stories.  KYMA

HEALTH NEWS

  • Summer is near and pests like spiders, scorpions and ants are expected in Yuma. Local expert James Rodriguez advises checking window and door seals (especially in garages) to secure homes before pests enter.  KYMA
