- ➤ Yuma is set to get a new indoor sports and community center as the old Sears building becomes the Desert Paddle and Pickleball Club—an 89,000 square-foot facility with 11 pickleball and six paddle courts, dining, and event spaces; the project is in development and may open as early as next year. - ➤ Chloe Comet, a sophomore at Yuma Catholic High School, was nominated to be a delegate at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, which will run from June 25th to June 27th at the University of Massachusetts Lowell campus—an honors-only program for high school students interested in medicine.
