- ➤ San Luis police arrested a man early Wednesday after a citizen reported a suspicious person, using a police drone to catch him fleeing on foot and finding burglary tools and stolen power tools during a home search (he now faces 11 burglary-related charges including 7 felonies) linked to multiple burglaries. - ➤ Yuma Art Center is launching an art camp for kids ages 6 to 15 that runs for three weeks starting June 3rd. The camp offers painting, sculpture, messy art and a museum in a box project for hands-on art learning—youth classes in painting, drawing and sculpture will also be offered. KYMA

- ➤ High school seniors at Yuma Catholic High School received scholarships during a ceremony – part of over $21 million awarded across the county – as graduation season continues with a ceremony today at Cibola High School and additional events next week at Yuma and Antelope. KYMA
- ➤ ALLO Fiber gave a $5,000 check to Yuma Union High School District through its ALLO for Education program (which lets internet customers support local schools). Seven local schools received funds this year to help with classroom needs and teacher support. KYMA
- ➤ At Arizona Western College on May 7, 28 fourth-semester nursing students were inducted as the first members of the Alpha Delta Nu—Iota Theta Chapter, an honor society recognizing academic success and community service; officials praised the students for meeting the high standards required to join. - ➤ Today at the Yuma Border Sector Headquarters, a memorial service honored fallen Border Patrol heroes including Luis “Louie” Dominguez as law enforcement, elected officials, and families gathered while the flags flew at half-staff—Assistant Chief Michael Wisniensky said the ceremony shows the deep sacrifice made to keep our nation safe.
