- ➤ On Saturday, a semi-truck carrying U.S. mail caught fire at a Tacna Shell gas station — fire crews from Wellton and Tacna along with U.S. Border Patrol stopped the blaze and saved about half of the mail while the driver with minor burns was taken to Onvida Health. KYMA
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Officers from YCSO, Homeland Security Investigations and Border Patrol arrested three Yuma men on May 5 at around 6:40 a.m. near E. 25th Place and S. James Avenue—a search warrant aided by YCSO K-9 Aisha uncovered nearly 11,000 counterfeit Fentanyl pills, a loaded firearm, liquid Methamphetamine, 3.44 grams of crystalline meth and drug paraphernalia. - ➤ YCSO identified Jose Martinez, 52, from Yuma and Jose Guevara, 48, from Somerton as the two victims who died from gunshot wounds in a shooting along W. Wall Lane and S. Somerton Avenue Saturday at 2:20 p.m.—a man who drove himself to Onvida Health remains stable while no suspect is in custody. KYMA
- ➤ YPD officers responded to reports of an aggravated assault near S. Madison Avenue and E. 28th Street at around 10:20 p.m. Sunday and found a 30-year-old man with a stab wound near a driveway—he was taken to Onvida Health where he later died— while the investigation continues with no suspect in custody.
