CRIME NEWS
- ➤ William Owen Hines was sentenced to 17 years in prison Friday for manslaughter in Preston Lord’s death — he received 12 years for manslaughter and 5 years for an aggravated assault, while six other suspects still face a murder trial set for July. KYMA
- ➤ On Saturday at around 2:20 p.m., officers found two people dead with gunshot wounds near W. Wall Lane and S. Somerton Avenue after receiving a 911 call with a silent open line— the Yuma County Sheriff's Office is treating the case as a homicide. KYMA
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Fourth Annual KYMA Cornhole Tournament took place on Friday at the station in Yuma—13 teams competed in a double elimination event and Chas Messman along with Jalen Fong won every match with a 5-0 record to claim the title. Their win marks the third time in four years that a member of the Sports team has finished at the top. KYMA
