- ➤ The Yuma Rotary Club will host Boot Scootin' for a Cause at the Country Roads RV Village on June 6 featuring food, drinks, prizes, free line dancing lessons and a cornhole tournament with a $10 fee plus advance tickets costing $40. KYMA
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ YFD responded Tuesday morning to a fire at a storage shed near American Legion Post 19 on S. Virginia Drive — the facility manager knocked down the flames before firefighters confirmed that the blaze remained contained and no one was hurt. KYMA
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Yuma native Noland Arbaugh, the first to receive a Neuralink implant in 2024 (a device that lets him control digital tasks with his brain), spoke at AWC about his journey after a 2016 spinal injury and is now returning to school to study neuroscience. KYMA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City leaders use Baby Sonny's memory to remind Yuma residents about the Safe Haven law after he was found outside a Best Western one year ago; safe haven sites are now marked with his footprints to help parents safely surrender newborns. KYMA
