- ➤ On Monday at 11:40 p.m., a 48-year-old bicyclist was hit by a vehicle that fled near W. Eighth Street and S. 14th Avenue in Yuma—police later found debris from a Chrysler 300 made from 2015 to 2020 and the victim was taken to Onvida Health before being flown to a Phoenix hospital with life-threatening injuries. - ➤ At Shady Acres Manufactured Home and RV Community, a couple said that bullying led to Katherine being punched when they fell behind on rent—neighbors disagree—and Bruce Farr was later arrested for trespassing. KYMA

- ➤ Arizona Western College graduates from San Luis, Somerton, and Gadsden will be celebrated at the Community of Learners Recognition Ceremony on Friday, May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. in the San Luis High School Auditorium—honorees will receive certificates and Academic Achievement Medallions for the upcoming commencement on May 16th. - ➤ A new affordable housing development in Yuma is giving hope to working-class families as phase one of Vistara opened with 80 apartment units, allowing residents like Frank Gonzalez—who struggled to find safe, affordable homes—to move in; over 200 families will move in when all phases complete and rents, starting at $600, remain below market rates. The project uses a $25 million federal tax credit program to keep rents affordable for households earning 40% to 60% of the local median income. AZ Family
