- ➤ On April 23 at about 4:45 p.m., a head-on crash in Wellton took the life of 24-year-old Kevin Espinoza of Dateland and left another driver in a Dodge Ram with serious injuries—deputies and fire crews quickly arrived to assist. KYMA
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ A Small Business Resource Fair is scheduled for May 14 from 4-6 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Career Center (a free event that honors National Small Business Week). A raffle contest (open to local participants) will be held at the fair. KYMA
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Joseph Volpicelli warned that excessive alcohol use can damage the liver, heart and brain, and said its long-term impact affects mood, social ties and finances — alcohol deaths now outnumber opioid overdose deaths.
