- ➤ A 19 year old suspect, Ricardo Miguel Carrasco, accepted a plea deal Tuesday for his role in an armed robbery involving a married couple at gunpoint last March—he faced six charges including aggravated robbery and kidnapping and will be formally sentenced on May 13. KYMA
- ➤ Yuma man Philip Kevin Clark—61-year-old water company owner—pleaded guilty Tuesday to taking nearly $400,000 from his employees' paychecks for unpaid taxes between 2017 and 2021—and will be sentenced—in July—. KYMA
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Evelution Energy plans to build the nation’s first solar-powered cobalt processing facility after it was approved two years ago by Yuma County in Tacna, 40 miles east of Yuma—construction will begin at the end of the year. The project is set to create 1,200 construction jobs and up to 60 permanent positions while its training program with Arizona Western College will help local students and veterans—aiming to cut reliance on China’s cobalt supply.
