  • ➤ YFD responded to a mobile home fire shortly after midnight on Monday near S. Fifth Avenue and W. 12th Street — firefighters quickly contained the blaze and confirmed that occupants had evacuated without injuries — while officials continue to investigate the cause.  KYMA

  • ➤ Arizona Western SBDC received the Excellence Award from the Arizona District Office of the Small Business Administration for its work supporting entrepreneurs in Yuma and La Paz counties — the center helped over 1,600 entrepreneurs and start 41 businesses in 2024. The team will accept the award at AZ Small Biz Con 2025 in Phoenix on May 7.  Arizona Western College

  • ➤ Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College will launch a new Financial Managerial Accounting Associate Certification later this month to train students in accounting, finance and cost management. The course will run from April 28 to July 28 on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Reskilling and Technology Center at 1351 S Redondo Center Dr. with registration open until the first day of class at a cost of $850.  Arizona Western College
