ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A house fire in Winterhaven left a family with nothing after the Yuma Fire Department assisted Imperial County Fire Department on Sunday. No injuries were reported and donations of clothing can be dropped off at 1567 E 23rd St in Yuma. KYMA
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Ashley DeCorse, a first-year Radiology student at Arizona Western College, was selected on March 9 for the national ASRT Student to Leadership Development Program; she will receive full funding, mentorship and leadership training to attend networking events. Arizona Western College
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Yuma Fire Department responded to over 400 calls last week, including 13 fire incidents involving an RV and a home. Officials advised residents to inspect ventilation fans and electrical cords (to prevent fire spread) as part of the upcoming neighborhood spring clean-up. KYMA
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ As warm weather arrives, more rattlesnakes are seen in local parks including West Wetlands Park, where Yuma Fire Department safely removes them. The Arizona Game + Fish Department advises residents to leave these snakes alone to avoid bites that usually occur when they are disturbed. KYMA
