  • Arizona Western College invites community members to celebrate its Decade-of-Transformation at an event on Tuesday, March 3 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in the Schoening Conference Center featuring a multi-media presentation and a fireside chat with Dr. Daniel Corr. CULTURE NEWS

  • The Arizona Traveling Museum will take place at the Colorado River State Historic Park on Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will showcase a replica of the Liberty Bell, immersive activities, live entertainment, photo ops + food vendors for a family celebration.  KYMA

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Marcos Moore, an experienced agronomist, is teaching local farmers how to use water to push salt away from their crops (preventing dehydration and stunting) today; his guidance focuses on improving irrigation systems to move water quickly and protect harvest yields.  KYMA
  • Community leaders gathered in Yuma to break ground on the BrightNight Power Pioneer Clean Energy Center, a 300-megawatt solar facility (expected to power about 77,299 homes and contribute $25 million to county services) with commercial operations scheduled to begin in April.  KYMA

HEALTH NEWS

  • Arizona dispensaries have voluntarily recalled Super Yuzu (Legacy and Co.) and Trap Queen (Nature’s Wonder) cannabis products because they may contain Aspergillus, a fungus that can trigger allergic reactions in vulnerable users. No illnesses have been reported and customers with pre-existing conditions should not consume these products.  KYMA
