About this event

Yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, such as fascia, ligaments, and those little base muscles closest to the bones. It is a slow and meditative practice, giving you space to turn inward so that you can tune into the physical sensations of your body and the mental relationship you have with discomfort in your body. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin yoga helps you stretch more deeply into tissues that can limit joint mobility while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts. Additionally, the practice of Yin Yoga is based on the ancient philosophies of Chinese Medicine which believes there are pathways of Qi (energy) that run through your body. By stretching and deepening into poses, you are opening and/or stimulating blockages both releasing and renewing energy pathways.
